Get ready for a spooktacular adventure like no other! 

Join us at Spike Island for the ultimate family-friendly Halloween event, The Spookfest Trail.

Saturday 26 – Thursday 31 October 2024

Bring your little goblins and witches and hop on board the fun ferry before embarking on a fang-tastic adventure through the mysterious Spike Island where you will find areas of the ancient fortress and prison transformed into a realm of Halloween wonderland!

Along with their families, the little ones can then trick or treat their way around the fortress with our brand new Halloween themed quiz trail – keep an eye out for our friendly tour guides who will be handing out sweet treats along the way!

Once your trick or treating is complete, you can relax at our cafe and gift shop. And that’s not all, our historic island offers an array of museums and child-friendly exhibitions as well as scenic island walks.

Don’t miss out on this unique Halloween experience, where history meets spook-tacular fun! Get your costumes ready and join us for an afternoon of enchantment, exploration, and Halloween surprises – the Spike Island Spookfest Trail promises a memorable Halloween experience that will delight children and parents alike.

Field of Dreams Pick-A-Pumpkin Festival 2024

Join us for the return of the Field of Dreams Pick-A-Pumpkin Festival, now bigger and more spooktacular than ever! Taking place on Sunday, October 6th and Sunday, October 13th, pumpkin picking slots are available from 10 AM to 3:30 PM each day.

Tickets start at €20 for a Pumpkin Ticket (includes entry for 1 and 1 pumpkin), or €5 for an Entry Ticket (entry only). We also offer a Family/Group Ticket for €32.50, which includes entry for 4 and 1 pumpkin. Children under 2 enter for free. Please note: you must purchase a Pumpkin Ticket or Family/Group Ticket to enter the pumpkin patch.

Follow the Pumpkin Trail and explore fun stops like the Haunted Cabin, outdoor Games Area, Sheep Pen, Halloween Photo Booth, Arts & Crafts, and of course, the Pumpkin Patch! Enjoy scary songs, stories, temporary Halloween tattoos, and try your luck at the Guess the Pumpkin Weight competition. The Pumpkin Café will serve seasonal sweet treats and drinks.

Leahy's Open Farm will host its exciting "Boo!" Halloween event from October 22nd to 31st, 2024. This family-friendly, outdoor adventure promises spooky fun for everyone! Hop on the haunted hayride through the woods and help the friendly witch create a magic spell by gathering special ingredients.Your "Boo!" ticket includes farm entry, and you can also pick and carve your own pumpkin for €5 or make a spooky lollipop for €6.50. Remember, buggies aren’t allowed on the hayride, and costumes (for both kids and adults!) are encouraged. Don't forget to wear warm clothes under your costume if it’s chilly. Event runs daily from 10:20 AM to 4:20 PM.

This year, there are not one, but two exciting pop-up cinema experiences showcasing a selection of spooky Halloween films! The Pop-up Movie Club will be at Marina Market on October 26th, featuring screenings of A Nightmare Before Christmas, Hotel Transylvania, Hocus Pocus, and The Conjuring.

The second experience, hosted by Scenic Cinema, will take place in the eerie Cork City Gaol on October 30th and Friday, November 1st, with showings of Hocus Pocus, The Conjuring, and the classic Halloween (1978).
